Mr. Travis Turner Worsham, age 82, of Cartersville, died Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at his residence. Born in Cedartown on October 6, 1933, he was the son of the late Reverend Henry Turner Worsham and Mary Bailey Worsham.
Mr. Worsham was retired from Chevron Oil Company and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Cartersville Elk and the Moose Lodge. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf along with his love for old cars. His very favorite place was the “Eagles Nest”. Mr. Worsham was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed very much by those who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Ruth Edwards, Nancy Winkles and Otis Worsham.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Nell Martin Worsham of Cartersville; his daughter, Lorrie Martin and her fiance’, Luke Leatherwood of Cartersville; his step-son, Scott Martin of Cartersville; his grandsons, Terry, Devin, Brant, Dustin, Dylan and Cody Martin; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Nina Francis of Cartersville; and two brothers, Dallas and Wallace Worsham also of Cartersville.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2016 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Edwin Weaver and Pastor Fletcher Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brant, Terry, Devin, Dustin, Dylan and Cody Martin, Wayne Quick and Luke Leatherwood.
